How long I am in darkness?
At least two hours. It takes some time to accomodate (even a bit) to a life in darkness.
Tell me more about the dinner in the dark!
You are looking for your place in the room which is still sparsely lit by a few candles. When the dinner starts in the dark, the candles are blown out. Now it is really dark. Your waiter is always approachable and ready to help. He will lead you out of the room at any time, if you want.
How dark it is then?
100 percent pitch-black. You cannot see your own hand in front of your eyes and there is not even the slightest ray of light. However, your personal waiter is always nearby and can help you if necessary. You'll soon notice that it is not that difficult. P>
Will I be blotted all over after dinner?
No, probably not! We prepare the meals in such a way that they are easily eatable in the dark. If needed you can ask your personal waiter or waitress for assistance. You will be surprised how soon you are able to act in this unfamiliar situation.
And how are your employees able to orientate themselves?
Blind and visually impaired people are used to using their other senses. They use the sound and noises within a room or the texture of the floor for orientation.
What if I want to order some more?
Your assigned blind or visually impaired waiter or waitress are always accessible. You can talk to them at any time and let them know about your wishes or needs.
Are the restrooms also in the dark?
No, only the actual dining room is dark, everything else is in the light.
Can we bring our children along?
Yes, children from the age of ten are welcome. To eat with their fingers is an affair of honour!
How do I get to you?
We are centrally located in Cologne-Klettenberg, diagonally opposite the tram stop "Sülzgürtel" (lines 13, 18). The travel time to the main station (line 18) is 15 minutes. Opposite the unsicht-Bar is a taxi rank. See How to get to us? for information on parking facilities.
In addition to the dark restaurant, whose appearance we do not know, you also have a nice bar with light. What does happen there?
There we welcome you - and you can end the evening here with a freshly tapped Kölsch. By the way, you will also meet Cologne people from the neighborhood!
